This color (Cover Girl’s NailSlicks in “Chocolate Mint” is easily 15 years old and applies like, well, melted chocolate at this point, so can’t be worn. It’s one of my all time favorites but I’ve never been successful at finding a dupe. This is the place I believe I’ll find the answer. Do your magic 🪄

  1. Kbshimmer thinner is the answer. Do 2-3 drops and then shake and check consistency. Repeat as needed until the polish is the right consistency for you.

I have a large collection so I started buying thinner directly from Glitter Unique so I could get large bottles of it and just refill my old Kbshimmer bottle since it has a nice dropper lid and makes it easy to dispense

I’m pretty sure I had this back in the day. If anyone comes up with a dupe, I’d love to know too

  3. That is a surprisingly unique color.

I second just using a good thinner, but if not, perhaps layering a metallic chocolate brown with a sheer minty-green/light teal shimmer polish might get you a similar result. I’m not saying it has to be specifically those two, I’m pretty sure I have seen lots of shades that are similar enough to those two from a variety of brands, just trying to give an idea of what could work.

Likewise I think if you layer chocolate brown chrome powder and green shimmer powder you might get a similar result. You’d need a water-based top coat. I’m all about buying pigments and glitters and flakies and just layering them / mixing them this or that way with clear polish to get custom shades on the fly lol

Someone has this color for sale on eBay for $14.95. If you get desperate.

  5. Definitely get some polish thinner!

I don’t think it’s the same but Eclipse by ilnp gives a similar feel. A gunmetal chrome to deep red metallic shifting polish.

  6. This looks fairly similar to a polish I used to wear. I think it was Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in the shade Gunmetal.
