I have bought so many things that work great, but then here comes the itch or the rash within hours or days, and I look and boom – there it is birch, pine, and floral essences of some sort – even in things meant for sensitive skin

It makes me sad – my most recent purchase of the Curel mist left me itchy and of course it has eucalyptus

  1. Yes, I had to stop using so much stuff… I just went back to European brands with simple inci lists

  2. I have allergies but never had reactions from skincare. Did you get tested to what exactly you are allergic to? I’m allergic to dust mites, some pollens and trees

  3. Fragrances, essential oils, colors, etc can all be allergens for anyone at any point. Try identifying the ingredients you want to avoid and find the AB products that exclude them. You don’t have to buy AB skincare if you don’t want to.

  4. Yes lol. I have severe hay fever and also PFAS. Not the forever chemical stuff, but Pollen-Food allergy syndrome. Dying to ragweed rn as we speak.

Also aloe vera on top of it cause I have a latex allergy, and aloe has naturally occurring latex that also sets it off for me. Also snail mucin cause I react to dust mites lmao.

I had to learn to read ingredients lists like my life depends on it.

  5. Yes, unfortunately. I’m allergic to birch and I didn’t realize there’d be birch in the BIRCH juice products (facepalm). Took me a while to figure that reaction out. I’m much more cautious with new products now.

  6. I can’t use products with birch extract, it causes itching/hives for me.

And I tend to go for AB products that are pretty barebones when it comes to extracts just to be safe.
