Working with isolated Chrome

This is my first time working with chrome powder. I followed the instructions.

I used matte top coat, then lightly buffed the nail, then wiped with acetone, then outlined my design with black gel mixed with rhinestone glue, then cured. I covered the area with gold chrome powder, and gently wiped off the excess. I still got Chrome powder on the outsides.

Please let me know what I could have done differently.
