My skin heats up easily, so I rely on cooling products a lot during the summer. Here are four I’ve been loving lately. Starting from the left, they are the Cell fusion C Post Alpha First Cooling Mask Sheet, the Numbuzin No. 4 Icy Soothing Sheet Mask, the Mimmua Icy Glacier Sherbet Pad, and the Biore Cold Body Wipes.

  1. Cell fusion C Post Alpha First Cooling Mask Sheet
When you open the packet you’ll see a mesh sheet layered over the mask. Apply it with the mesh side facing up. Out of the three masks in this review, this one has the most essence and feels the most hydrating. It’s also the strongest. If it touches the area around my mouth, I get a quick flush of heat. Even so, the cooling effect is amazing, so I just avoid the mouth area and use it whenever I need instant relief. The scent is minimal, almost unnoticeable.

  2. Numbuzin No. 4 Icy Soothing Sheet Mask
This mask has mugwort woven into the sheet, giving it a light herbal scent. Sometimes I notice tiny specks left on my skin after removing it. While it still has a cooling, tingling sensation, it’s less intense than CellfusionC. I think both contain a menthol derivative, so people with sensitive skin should be cautious. This one doesn’t cause the mouth area to burn, but the sheet isn’t particularly soft and doesn’t hold as much essence.

  3. Mimmua Icy Glacier Sherbet Pad
These are toner pads rather than sheet masks, and they cool without any tingling or stinging. The pads are thick, bouncy, and jelly-like, giving a gentle cooling experience even for first-time users. If you leave them on for a while, they’ll slowly slide down your face. The cooling feels refreshing and lasts even without menthol. They’re gentle enough to wear longer, even around the mouth and cheeks. They’re loaded with essence, although you’ll need several pads to cover your whole face like a mask.

Sheet comparison
In terms of thickness, Mimmua is the thickest, followed by CellfusionC, then Numbuzin.
For intensity, CellfusionC is the strongest, then Numbuzin, then Mimmua.
Cooling power is about the same for all three.

  1. Biore Cold Body Wipes
These don’t need to be refrigerated to give an instant cooling effect. As soon as you open a pack, you get a strong whiff of alcohol, which can be overwhelming. They’re also very strong, so I never use them on my face. On the neck they cause immediate stinging, and on the arms, repeated wiping can bring on a sharp cooling burn. I save these for extreme heat, but they work wonders in emergencies.

Overall
If you want the most essence and you’re not sensitive to menthol, go with CellfusionC. If you want menthol cooling without as much sting, try Numbuzin. If menthol isn’t for you, Mimmua is a gentle, easy-to-use option with thick, bouncy pads.
