  1. For info, I’m dry-sensitive skin in humid tropical climate. I’m not using all these at once by the way. It’ll become clear in my descriptions below haha.

Tip for beginners when using sunscreen: I think the recommended amount is a quarter teaspoon for face and neck. I wasn’t able to do that amount when I first started. It felt like a lot of product. But later on, I got more comfortable and kept increasing the amount I put on until I reached the quarter teaspoon amount. So my suggestion is, put on however much you’re comfortable with at first, and slowly increase as you get more comfortable and used to putting on sunscreen. 🙂

    Sunscreens

1- Shiseido BB for sports – I’ve used multiples of this over the past decade. Wash my face in the morning, moisturizer, then this and no other foundation. It’s like a liquid BB formula. Comes in several shades I believe. I just chose one closest to my skintone. I’ve used this over and over again because it’s very sweat resistant. And in my climate, very necessary. So this is basically tried and true. This is currently empty but I’ve kept it just for personal preference in the future. I don’t use this anymore because it’s expensive for me, not really affordable anymore. I’ve since switched to Allie (number 4 in the pic).

2- Biore UV CC Milk – I initially bought this thinking it would be a good substitute for the Shiseido (number 1 in this pic). It’s very fluid. Doesn’t layer well. Quite streaky. And I feel like because it’s fluid, giving thin coverage, and does not layer well…. it feels like not enough SPF protection. It also only comes in one shade, which doesn’t match me. So after several uses of this, I gave it to a family member.

3- Biore UV Face Milk – This one is in the same range as number 2, liquid and white in colour. I believe this one is sometimes called ‘oil control’. I did not buy this, it came free with a purchase. I tried it anyway and yeah, it’s extremely drying on my skin. My skin feels taut and dry. Because of the white, it also shows whitecast. I gave it to a family member who has oily skin. They don’t like that it’s liquid but they use it anyway.

4- ALLIE (for face, Color Tuning) sheer beige – I saw the Gel UV version was ranked high on cosme. Allie is also by Kanebo, under Kao (like Biore). I tried a tester at a shop near me and it felt like a creamy BB foundation, so I bought it. It felt ‘powdery’ on the first few uses. I also used a brush to apply, streaky. I didn’t like it at first but…. I switched to applying/blending with my fingers and it’s a gamechanger! I love it! Sweat resistant and friction resistant indeed. Layerable. One layer all over my face and I dab some more for under eye ‘concealer’. It’s a little bright for me but settles after about half an hour. It stays on beautifully when I wear it out from 8am-8pm. I even got compliments and people asked what I was using so I highly recommend it. (I had the Sunny Apricot as well but that was too pink for me.)

5- Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence – Everyone knows this already so I’ll just share how I use it. I put this on before a foundation with no SPF. That’s it. I probably won’t buy this again mainly because I don’t like using too many products. I can just use the Allie as foundation + spf in one.

6- Biore UV Aqua Rich LIGHT Up Essence – I just bought this a few days ago. I normally use number 7 in the pic (biore tone up), but recently heard it’s a limited edition, and I’m scared it’ll discontinue. So I bought this LIGHT Up to compare. It gives me a bit of a whitecast compared to the TONE up but overall, the feeling is the same.

7- Biore UV Aqua Rich TONE Up Essence – This is my second tube, almost finished. One tube lasts me about 2-3 months. As you can see, I like it so much I bought 2 more during sales for back up. It’s creamy/lavender hue. I use this on days I stay home. It’s moisturizing so a little tacky in my humid climate. Idk about dry climate. People say it makes me look like I have natural healthy skin.
