Soooo I LOVE how dewy i am, but when i powder it immediately dulls it until say 6 hours into the day and then suddenly my sweat (ew)… brings it all back and it looks so cutesy and glowy!! what is ur preferred setting powder??? im extremely pale so it needs to be translucent/ white. Photos are 5 hours after application! i find it can genuinely last me 15hours without separating!! for ref if anyone’s interested in this cushion I am in the shade lingerie :3

  1. I’ve used this cushion in the same shade for around 2 years. Currently trying other cushions/foundations. Live in a hot and humid country in SEA.

I used a light dusting of the Laura Mercier translucent setting powder, it seemed to work to set this, and setting spray too. Charlotte Tilbury setting spray was okay at first, but it seemed to melt the makeup instead of setting and make it cakey, so I switched to Urban Decay.

If you get too oily throughout the day, you can buy cheap blotting papers (the kind that sticks onto the back of a puff so you can tap to blot), or try a pressed powder. I wore this to work, and I only needed to blot once throughout the entire day.

As for separating/cakey, this cushion actually requires you to prep and hydrate your skin really well before you apply. Towards the end of the cushion’s lifespan, the formula also seems to change a bit and be more cakey I feel.

Application wise, dab your cushion into your foundation, tap it on the back of the cover and then apply so you apply in thin layers. This foundation self-sets very quickly so you need to be quick.

Hopefully the application method I used works for you. Being in SEA, I was constantly sweating before, during and after putting my makeup on. It never budged for me and slowly melted and looked so natural at the end of the day.

It is not perfect, but it is my holy grail. I have quite oily skin. So, a setting spray, actually.
