I haven’t seen this reviewed on here, so thought I’d give it a go! I hadn’t heard much of this brand before I bought it, and I’ve since learned that it is a Taiwanese brand, and they have a range of ‘Cheese’ creams for the face and eye area. This review is for the eye cream 😊
Climate: Cold, windy and mostly wet, sometimes humid (UK northern weather, what is the sun?)
Skin type: oily, acne-prone (but currently cleared up). I’m 29 so just starting to get a few lines mostly around my eyes.
How often used: most nights
Product: Complexion Boutik Cheese Eye Cream
Ingredients:
I can’t find a list online so I’ve added a photo of the ingredients as they are on the box 😊
Reason for Purchase:
I needed a new eye cream and saw this online at TKMaxx for £4.99! Couldn’t not try it at that price, what a steal.
Texture/Scent: I honestly could sit here with a dictionary and never accurately describe the tecture of this. I LOVE this cream so I say this fondly, but it’s like half-melted Mozzarella? It’s stringy and very tacky when you’re tapping it under the eye, see image 3 for how stringy it is. However, it glides on your skin like a dream.
It has a scent of cherry blossoms, which is very nice, though the smell doesn’t linger and once it’s absorbed you can’t smell it.
Review:
I love this cream! The texture really icked me out at first to the point I almost threw it away, but I persevered and I’m so glad I did. I apply it 20 minutes after my Beauty of Joseon eye cream in a thick layer, and it feels very cool and soothing on my under eye area. The tackiness dries down after around 5 minutes, and my under eye area feels nice and hydrated. Surprisingly despite the texture, it doesn’t feel heavy once it has dried down, and I haven’t broken out in any spots under my eye area like I do sometimes when I’ve used too much cream.
Not going to lie, I also now weirdly enjoy tapping it under my eyes and seeing it go all stringy 🤣
Overall it’s very nice, and I think I will repurchase it, along with trying their Rice Bran Cheese Face Cream. It definitely does as it says, and my under eye area feels hydrated and bright.
UK skincare lovers, if you’re on a budget and want a lovely cheap cream I definitely recommend this one – it’s still available too for less than £5!
