Hello everyone, I'm here to translate ALLEGED results of popular Korean sunscreens done by Sunlin Beauty Science Laboratory. It's one of the most well known cosmetic ingredients' manufacturer in Korea and THE ONLY one with FDA certification. So it's legit.
    The testing was done in-vitro but it was done with the newest technology by spreading the sample on PMMA plate and exposing it with
    UV light. In-vivo would be better but 1. The experiment was done by unsponsored volunteers and it would've got too expensive,
    2. The results are still somewhat accurate. The SPF 7 won't magically become SPF 50 (whoops spoilers)

    So, the results are:

    Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Rice Probiotics

    SPF: 22.77 | PA: 10.35 (PA+++)

    BENTON AIR FIT UV DEFENSE SUN CREAM

    SPF: 20.96 | PA: 9.48 (PA+++)

    CLEAN-UP SUPER SUN SCREEN

    SPF : 35.96 | PA : 14.88 (РА+++)

    d'Alba UV ESSENCE WATERFULL SUNCREAM

    SPF : 30.73 | PA : 14.6 (РА+++)

    FRUDIA_Green Grape Sebum Control Cooling Sun Gel

    SPF : 9.31 | PA : 5.01 (РА++)

    HOLIKA HOLIKA FACE&BODY WATERPROOF SUN CREAM

    SPF : 22.2 | PA : 10.01 (РА+++)

    ROUNDLAB BIRCH JUICE MOISTURZING SUNSCREEN

    SPF : 23.75 | PA : 11.57 (РА+++)

    TOCOBO Bio Watery Sun Cream

    SPF : 7.44 | PA : 3.47 (РА+) (editor: freaking hell)

    You can also see them on slide two (picture is not mine, | translated it).
    I'm not involved with any of the party, l'm a mere translator. The whole testing was payed by a person with a skincare blog on Telegram (a platform commonly used by Russians). The person is not involved with any brands as far as I know. The Suniin Laboratory is a reliable one. The sunscreens were also chosen simply because they are very popular in Russia, and I can attest to that.
    Final thoughts of a translator / editor (skippable) :
    I was so suprised by these results. It the results are true, this is even worse than PURITO gate. It was exceptionally painful because TOCOBO one is my holy grail, I bought it 14+ times. I am so serious with my sun protection, I'm prone to pigmentation and all, I wore hats, sunglasses, reapplied after a few hours while knowing| technically was safe with just applying a generous layer in the morning. While I thought | was dr.draying life, I was BARELY protected. I wasted so much money too..

    The post is not for you to be disappointed in sunscreens and throw them away completely, sun protection is still so important. There are other labs where these creams had higher protection, too. At the end of the day, the best sunscreen is the one you'd wear, and if that's not greasy American/Australian ones that are properly tested like drugs, then it's a not so protective Korean one.
    Still, though I personally believe the results, it's ALL ALLEGEDLY, as I wasn't the one doing the testing. I’m not making statements, I’m just sharing what I found, 100% or not.

    I just felt the urge to translate the post because other than people who use sunscreen for vanity reasons (extremely valid btw), there are people who have a disease or take medication that makes them photosensitive (ex. Vitiligo, accutane) and they deserve good protection!
    Hope my post will spark a constructive discussion, l'd love to hear your thoughts 🙂

      1. Mods, can I @ the person who did send the samples to the testing? I’ve seen people here mentions Kelly Dristol, Hyram and etc without getting banned but I want to play safe.

      2. In the text, the Sunjin Beauty Science turned into Sunlin. I can’t edit it now for some reason 🙁 and it’s the former

      3. The awful collage was made by me in a train, sorry, couldn’t come up with something better, just wanted people to know which sunscreens I’m talking about

      4. Once again, this is all alleged. For legal reasons, I do not say all the information provided in that blog was true. They did post documents given by the Laboratory tho. What I got, I translated. It’s up to you to decide what to do with the information
