I opened this Madagascar cleansing oil a month ago, and it smells fishy. Is that the case for anyone else? I think I recall it smelling citrusy at first, but I hadn’t used it in almost two weeks. It’s been stored in my basement bathroom (it stays cool and dry). The packaging says 12 months, and I purchased it from YesStyle.

It’s definitely meant to retain that citrusy smell and if it smells fishy I would toss it. The 12M is a projection and can be affected by many different things such as how it was shipped and stored. You could’ve also just gotten a bad batch
Regardless, that sucks and I’m sorry!
Hmmm. I mean, it is entirely feasible that it could have gone bad. I’m sorry if this is the case.
But I would also ask, have you gotten sick recently/does the air smell funny in that general area? A cold could easily affect your sense of smell. I would definitely ask family members to take a whiff before you toss.
Mmm, is not supposed to. I got one, and I do not always use it. Do not smell.
3rd post regarding skincare products smeelling weird i’ve seen so far 😂
That sucks,,, sorry to hear that. Ive used one for a while now and it doesn’t smell and its not suppose to..
There was another post recently about another Centella product smelling fishy..
I heard water or moisture getting in ruins it, and maybe affects the smell too. I kept mine in a dry place, and it still smells the same citrusy fragrance.
Oh no I just got mine and I hope it doesn’t start smelling fishy soon lol. But if it’s went from the citrus smell to a fishy smell it’s likely not good to use anymore
It should smell like herbal or kinda like leaves with that hint of citrus. Throw it out if it doesnt smell like that

Did you get this delivered recently in hot conditions? It’s possible that the high heat during the long delivery process from Hong Kong to you broke down some ingredients? That’s unfortunate since it looks like you still have a full bottle!
