I’ve bought literally every one of the unearthly cosmetics mystery boxes but 86 USD plus shipping for a single palette is completely ridiculous especially when it looks like that. The colors look ashy and the palette is no bigger than their other palettes. They’re the brand I splurge on because I really enjoy their stuff but this is just flat out delusional.

I have the “original” of this palette from a few years ago and there are at least 20 shades in there. Plus I got it for half off. Unearthly is out of their minds with the price jacking this is absurd.

Wow, this screams $30 pallet max. Why buy a $80 Unearthly pallet if you can get a Natasha Denona pallet for $70, or a $30 dollar Cosmetics Brushes pallet? The colours look super flat and murky, such a shame.

I’d reckon there’s some repeat or similar shades available in their range already and in other similar Indie brands. Overall the brand is too expensive for what you’re getting

I do agree 12 shades when they aren’t even all duochrome/multichrome, just 2 duochromes and the rest regular shimmers, is ridiculously overpriced. And this is why I hate mystery purchases. But, they did always say it was a single palette of 12 shades. Though, with Unearthly, I’d expect those 12 shades to be at least majority duochrome/multichrome, so to only have 2 is ridiculous, especially at $86 price tag.
And yet, they made a post saying how people were receiving their palettes and the comments are filled with people talking about how gorgeous it is. Wild! I’d be so annoyed spending $86 for a palette with 2 duochromes and the rest regular shimmers.
EDIT: Swatches from the post I saw. It looks like only 1 duochrome, but OP said there’s 2. So it must not have much of a shift?

I am probably going to be in the minority but their color stories just don’t do it for me.
I feel like the price jacking started when they launched Sorcerous Smoke and the revamped Fall Magic palettes. Since then it seems like each new palette has gotten more and more expensive and the colour stories less inspired.

I just remembered that I was watching one of Unearthly’s livestreams back about a year ago when they were first switching over to the smaller pan size. I was watching mainly to see when they were going to be restocking certain things. She said that she wanted to switch to smaller pans because it was highly requested, and she wanted to reformulate and get the prices lower for us. And Since then, the prices have skyrocketed 😅 Everything since the Don’t Be Jelly revamp has been SO expensive. And I don’t feel like the formula is much better. The mattes are about the same and the shimmers are thinner with a tad more sparkle and less pigment than before. Definitely not a change that is worth the newer price tag.
I really haven’t liked their choices as a brand for the past couple of years. But this release takes the cake.
I would never pay almost a hundred dollars for a palette. It takes pennies to make eye shadow so someone is getting rich off these things. I recently bought two beautiful smaller palettes from Sephora for eight dollars each, they were on sale, may still be on sale.
I haven’t bought a palette in years but this is wild. I’m not familiar with this brand so I can’t speak to their quality, but $86 for what looks like every unsold palette at TJ Maxx is insane. The audacity is aggravating me. The component even looks cheap. I could get a couple of luxury items I really want for this price, or a few things from Ulta or Sephora.

Also what’s with them reusing old names for new palettes? “All I ever wanted” has been used twice. I own both volume 1 and 2. They are amazing, 20 special shade palettes.
I feel like the last few launches for this brand have been lackluster. I think the last purchase I made was last year summer mystery boxes everything senses has just been meh for me. I’ve moved on to Ensley reign cosmetics they have fun unique color stories and coolest special shades and formulas.
That looks like one of the elf holiday palettes from, like, 14 years ago. $86 my ass.

When they have been controversial in the past, have the worst customer service, shadow bans anyone not positive on their IG posts, have asked for tips at check out (gone now I believe). And they will discount this palette when they have overstock in a few months?
