Skin type: Combination, Climate: Mediterranean, Skin tone: Fitzpatrick type II
Shiseido The Perfect Protector SPF50+ PA++++ : Milky, water-resistant sunscreen with a scent that lingers (not able to describe the scent). Easy to apply, dries to a nice dewy finish on the skin, but leaves a white cast on me. It is not too bad but still visible to me. After 1-2 hours, it starts to burn my eyes when I apply around them. I use it on my face and neck for running and it appears to stay put after sweating, so I might re-purchase this just for this purpose.
Pyunkang Yul Moisture Soothing Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++ : This is a hybrid sunscreen with zinc oxide listed high on the ingredient list. I usually stay away from mineral or hybrid sunscreens that are zinc-oxide based due to the white cast but I did not check the ingredients before buying this. This sunscreen is scentless, creamy and relatively easy to apply. Not drying, no eye-sting but leaves a bad white cast. The only reason I’m not re-purchasing this is the white cast, others who enjoy mineral sunscreens might enjoy using this sunscreen.
Round Lab Birch Juice Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++ : This is my go-to for daily sunscreen when I’m mostly indoors. Scentless, light and creamy texture, easy to apply. It brightens my skin and leaves a natural dewy finish. No white cast on me and doesn’t sting my eyes even when applied around them. Pretty much tick all the boxes for me.
COSRX Snail 96 Mucin Essence : Used this for 4 months as a toner/essence step. It is scentless, has a slightly thicker texture. It is hydrating and soothing for my skin, would re-purchase.
Beauty of Joseon Retinal eye cream : Used this for 6 months every night. I don’t see obvious changes but there might be a slight improvement in milia under my eyes if I really look for it. As it is gentle enough to use around the eyes, I also use it around my mouth, no issue so far. I would repurchase this as a retinoid for my eye/mouth area until I find a better alternative.
