This is my collection of cushion foundations swatched with indoor lighting and direct window lighting. Thought this would be helpful for all the neutral yellow-based pale skin tones.
I often struggle to find a foundation that is light enough for my face despite k-beauty foundation shades usually only coming in light shades. My arm is actually a shade or two darker than my face/chest. In fact, almost all these swatches were too dark or too orange in person but I can get away with them if I apply it lightly and use a lighter concealer.
The best match for my face is actually the Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless in 110 despite what the arm swatches look like. Unfortunately, the lightest korean foundation shades usually lean pink/cool which always turn orange on my neutral-yellow undertone skin.
PRODUCTS FEATURED
Romand Bare Water Cusyhion #17 – Just received in the mail, have yet to wear for a full day.
Amuse Dew Jelly #1.5 – Light coverage and glowy. One of my favourites despite having oily skin. I love sheer foundations, so it gives a nice amount of coverage for me personally. Finish is very dewy but I usually powder my t-zone.
Laneige Neo Matte #13N – Medium coverage with a semi-matte finish (on oily skin). Shade is slightly dark after it settles but I can work with it by applying less. I like how this wears on my skin except around the nose where it emphasises any texture. It was impossible to find this shade in stock anywhere, not sure if it is just unpopular or not.
Laneige Neo Glow #21N – Light/Medium coverage with a glowy finish. Shade is similar to #13N of the matte version but slightly darker. I can use it because the coverage is not too high. Another one of my favourites despite having oily skin just because of the lighter coverage. I wanted #13N1 originally but it is rarely in stock or has an inflated price compared to shades 21/23. Not really sure what is happening to the lightest Laneige shades.
Moonshot Micro Calmingfit #101 – Medium/High coverage with a semi-glowy/natural finish. It is too orange on my skin so I never use it. The one time I wore it out, it became really cakey. Probably one of my least favourites.
Romand Clear Cover #21 Pure – Medium coverage with a semi-glowy finish. I find it to be similar to the moonshot cushion as it becomes too cakey for my skin.
Romand Zero Layer Foundation #1 – Medium coverage with matte finish. Also becomes cakey by the end of the day. A bit too orange for my skin after oxidation.
Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless #110 – Medium coverage with matte finish. Holy grail for shade match and longevity. I have used this for years and I haven't found anything better. If only there was a pump on the bottle so you don't have to tip out the foundation.
