Just saw and bought at my local Costco – a 4 pack for $39!

Hurrah, no more pilling and white face! However, I’ve read that the North American version is formulated differently from the original in Japan…

What are the differences exactly? I only care about actual SPF protection, no white cast and no pilling.

    1. From what I’ve heard about the Canadian version, UV filters are treated as a drug compared to Japan, that treats it as a cosmetic. Canada has not approved new UV filters in years compared to Japan so it does not contain newer UV filters in Korean and Japanese sunscreen. Thus, the Canadian version contains old UV filters and is thicker and smells like sunscreen.
This is all that I’ve heard as Ive been strictly using the Japanese version and haven’t tried the north American version.

    2. They’re different it’s likely the same as the US formula because Canada has similar regulations regarding SPF filters meaning that basically no 2nd generation filters are available so it will have only “older” uv filters. There is no PA rating because it is not required and the brand likely won’t tell you the exact level of uva protection because it’s not required. Thats not to say it’s bad though if you like it use it I’m currently using an American sunscreen I like because it’s easier for me to get my hands on.
