I recently posted my Artdeco black eyeshadow that’s almost panned, so I went through my collection to find the smallest pan of black eyeshadow I have to maybe fit into the tiny Artdeco palette as a replacement.
I found my high school favourites. They’re probably the oldest makeup I own, I could have sworn I threw it out, surely did toss the entire rest when I moved!
The Maybelline is a black, apart from the brand everything rubbed off. I’m pretty sure I replaced this with the current Artdeco because it was nearly dead. According to a quick Google it’s most likely the Color show mono in #22 Blackout, if so it’d be 3g (!)
The other two were my absolute favorite, I’m so upset that baked eyeshadow seems no longer a thing in drugstores. I also had a baked baby blue from essence! Memory unlocked. These are both Manhattan intense effect. The panned is Dim Brown (#910G) and the grey for comparison is #101K (?), name rubbed off. As you can see they were domed, and the brown is all worn down.
The days before brushes, so I applied these with a sponge applicator. I could have sworn I’ve never panned an eyeshadow before, but apparently I was wrong. Honestly, I will probably toss the black as it’s ancient and I have better… but I’m tempted to keep the brown. I’ll swatch it against PML Mothership Decadence: Divine Mink for sure, that one’s my favorite out of the palette and it looks similar in the pan! Now, the quality of an ancient drugstore shadow will probably be very different haha.
