* Disclaimer: the two major red spots on my right side on cheek and chin appear redder from me trying to clean the blemishes that surfaced/got worse in those areas. The one under my eye I left as is but you can see how red it is still *

Oh boy, there’s a lot to unpack here but I’ll do my best.

Heard a lot of great things about the oil. Purchased off Amazon. It’s legit. Used it the night I received it in the mail.

Per an esthetician’s YouTube (where I saw the oil rec), rubbed the oil on dry skin and incorporated water as I massaged my face and then washed and dried it off. I could immediately feel a slight tingle/irritation along my cheekbones but nothing major that made me feel I should stop using. I’ve had terrible reactions before (instant burning) and during that moment, this was not one of them. Just slight irritation. I continue to see if the product is worthwhile (yep I’m stupid af), so I followed with my Cetaphil face wash (because it’s the only thing that works for me). Upon doing this, I could tell for sure there was either a reaction or my skin was simply rejecting the oil from before. So I put on my regular moisturizer which is CeraVe to try to calm my skin a bit. It helps.

Yesterday morning: I again, used my regular face wash and face lotion and nothing else because my face hurt. (Seems the face wash is a trigger with whatever’s left on my face even though I washed the oil and everything has *seemingly* been completely wiped from my skin). Just to be clear– I did *not* and *have not* used the oil other than the first time trying it out. Only my basics have been used– wash and moisturizer. I took pictures yesterday morning and while still showing redness and irritation, they’re not great quality so I did not include.

Last night: I washed my face the same way last night and this morning, keeping it simple and with my usual products. Some stinging and irritation again. Last night was when my skin felt and looked the worst (pictures on the left). Right side pictures are from this evening where I can still feel some discomfort in some areas of my face, but otherwise my skin is looking normal again. On the flip side: A lot of sebum, blackheads and whiteheads surfaced which I was able to clean leaving parts of my face now feeling ultra soft and looking bright.

Bottom line: my face is obviously extremely sensitive to the oil, and/or the Cetaphil and oil remnants reacted terribly together. I don’t plan on using it again– at least not on my face. Maybe it has use for another tougher area of the body to keep it soft? Feet perhaps? Maybe others can chime in here. If I can’t use it at all (cries) perhaps I can mail it out to someone who uses it religiously. I hate to be wasteful and throw it out. I had high hopes but it is what it is.

Correction: this morning I *only* washed with warm and cold water, and then followed with CeraVe moisturizer.
