I saw this beautiful dark blue metallic from L.A. colors and absolutely crumbled. If I wear blue, it’s only dark blues! So when I tried it on, and it was way more light blue than the bottle I was heartbroken. The photos make it look darker than it is irl.
I ended up applying cirque colors “cobalt jelly” over top in two coats to get that dark blue, but that made it lose the metallic finish. Can anyone recommend a dark blue metallic/chrome?

    Full product list:
Base coat: Nail aid total cure 9-1
    Base color: LA Colors Glacier
Jelly Coat: Cirque Colors Cobalt Jelly
Top Coat: LA Colors Plumping Gel-Like
Top Coat: ORLY Sec n Dry

  2. Maybe try layering on top of the cirque jelly or a black you already have. I’ve seen this work with other polishes to deepen the top layer.

  3. My sister and I got a whole bunch of LA colors recently, both in store and online. While Glacier is really pretty, it is way lighter than other pictures/reviews we have seen.

I don’t have a blue chrome to recommend but wanted to validate that our bottle of Glacier was a little disappointing (but cheap so not TOO disappointed). I will recommend Orly You’re on Sapphire; it’s not exactly chromey/metallicy-y but it is really beautiful and kind of close-ish. It would absolutely stunning with a chrome powder on top, if you want to go that route.

However – I can highly recommend Jaded, Marvelous, and Violet Vixen from the same LA colors line.

Are you in the US? if so I am sorry because I believe it’s discontinued there(??) but if not, Essie Aruba Blue!!
Otherwise, as someone else has said, try layering! A sheer blue shimmer/topper over black or navy might give you this look too.
