or are they pretty subtle in person? I want to look a little otherworldly!
I love the mother of pearl effect of these, which hopefully makes them a little bit more exciting than your average nude/cream/pink. I have pale skin and short nails. I'll be outside in natural sunlight, likely on a sailboat or beach! I have not tried these brands. I will probably just do my own nails.
Any warnings or better brands/recommendations?

I think chrome powder might be the way to go if you want subtle colors with very shifty payoff.
Will your outfit be white or another light neutral color? The purply pink and green tones will look more noticeable in photos when compared to a white outfit for example. They are beautiful shades and great picks, just something to consider. If you want ethereal but more subtle, a white chrome topper like the other commenter mentioned would work, or a silver- or champagne-toned magnetic! Fancy Gloss has a new silver magnetic topper and Jen & Berries and a champagne toned magnetic topper you can put over any color nails.
just an FYI that Death Valley Nails is problematic (MAGAs).
But I think this kind of look would look really pretty for a wedding. Maybe doing 3 coats would make it pop more. Get Lobstered from BKL is one that I was like, I wish I had had this when I got married! Same sort of vibe!
I did chrome powder over milky white for my wedding. It was very similar to the left image.
You might like Emily de Molly Sakura Mist or for a more pearly color Mooncat Pearl Clutcher
oh HELL yeah.
(then i read the rest of the post and realized you were asking how they looked in person, don’t know sadly but that’s gonna be a sick look on the wedding day!)
I have Skelly Bones and it looks like the top right for sure. Pink reflective, chrome-y. I don’t have any pics but the swatch photos here look accurate to me!
