Hey guys I got this builder gel set at a salon near my boyfriend’s place (which is 2 hours away from where I live), this past Sunday. It took an hour and 20 minutes for a fill which I wouldn’t have a problem with if it was done right. When I got in my car I saw that the polish was done really terrible, there was gel on my cuticles around my nails. But also somehow the polish wasn’t covering my full nail in some places. I chalked it up as a loss and that I’d have a bad set for 2 weeks. But today I woke up and saw that the builder gel was lifting up off of my thumb, it’s been 3 days 😭 And my nails are really flexible, they bend really easily like putting my hands in my pockets hurts because my nails bend. I’ve written a yelp review but do you think this is an appropriate situation to ask for a refund or partial? It was $45 and I tipped $6 (I usually tip more okay but I wasn’t happy with the experience) I live 2 hours away so I wouldn’t be able to go in to have them fixed.

They might not give it to you, but you should still ask. And do it as soon as possible because the further out you are from your appointment, the less likely they are to take responsibility for any problems.

Unfortunately, these also need to come off asap. The gap in the builder gel will allow moisture in and you’ll get greenies on your nails. Never go back to this place. They put you at risk of an acrylate allergy by flooding your cuticles and getting gel on your skin like that. This does not look like professional work at all.

My nails were like this too and I guess you can see in my post history how that turned out! In other words, never go back there! Hope you get refunded
