Girls, I need help and advice. I’m 22 years old and I became a nail tech 7 months ago. I have 3 certificates from completed trainings, but I’m struggling with one thing, getting new clients.
I live in the Balkans where nail prices range from €15–50, and in my smaller town where I’m based it’s €13–35. The competition is huge, salons are everywhere, and there are also many girls working from home. I believe my work is decent and affordable, and my photos are clean and nicely presented so the work is clearly visible.
At the beginning, I introduced loyalty cards, which clients liked because they get a discount. I had models at first to build my content, I practice constantly, and I get 15,000–40,000 views on my profile, but I rarely get new clients, and when I do, they rarely stay.
I do have regular clients who support me and I’m really grateful for them, but with this income I would need another job. I tried combining it with another job, but I ended up losing 2 clients because we couldn’t match schedules.
On Instagram I have 2,000 followers, and on TikTok 3,500, these are the only two platforms I use for promotion. I don’t have a registered business, which means I can’t hand out business cards.
Should I promote myself on Facebook, and how? Should I pay for Instagram ads?
Any advice would mean a lot to me. I’ll post some of my work so you can see how my photos look. On Instagram, I have highlights for before/after, nail art, nails, loyalty cards, certificates, and reposts from girls who have tagged and supported me.
Also, I work with gel and Gel-X.

I don’t know how to help but girl your prep and work are incredible!! i’m from the U.S. but so many people here charge $100+ for nails with leftover gel on your fingers and poorly shaped gel x. you’re so talented keep going!
I ran into this same issue a few months back. I started using purplefree to track social mentions for leads which helped a lot. It’s a bit of a learning curve to set up the keywords correctly though.
Girlllll what is the base in second slide and wow ur work is so clean especially prep and cuticle work
You do great work. You deserve more clients. My stepmom pays for IG ads for her business, and I believe she said it’s gotten her business. ????
I hope others chime in with suggestions. Good luck!!!
