I have worked soooooo hard to grow my nails out. Nailtiques has been an absolute game changer, but! I still get the occasional stubborn peel that lifts under 3 layers of polish to remind me I'm not in charge.
I know peeling never really stops once it's present but I can't bear to do a chop. Not again. Not yet.
Am I crazy to want to clean up the damage per usual and reinforce with a teabag patch over it? Just until the area of weakness is grown out enough to be filed away and forgotten forever?

Funnily enough, I haven’t done that till just recently. I used a silk patch and nail glue initially which did nothing, the peel still got worse even under that. So then I redid it with a layer of Orly powder and so far that has been helping. But it took a week or two of playing around with it, and I did have to file it quite low again (although not a complete chop) but so far it’s working. I am sort of afraid to redo the patch though and see what’s really going on underneath 🫣
Just dropped in to say this photo might have convinced me to try a matte… Damn…
Heavily depends on my mood! 😆
Sometimes, I will clip them all if even one perishes. Currently, however, I’m rockin’ different lengths because I don’t want to start all over again since I’m trying to see what a new nail shape will look like on me.
Peeling grow out has been the bane of my existence. If the peel is the tip, which it usually seems to be for me, I’ve been carefully filling the nail then adding another topcoat.
Reinforcing with a teabag/patch is so smart… I struggle with peeling and have been working so hard to grow my nails past the peel so I can chop it off, a patch would definitely help with that… thanks for the inspiration, and I definitely just paint over my peeling, typically with some extra Nailtiques over the problem area to reinforce
