Japanese bridge over the water lily pond.
📸 I painted these nails for a very fun collab on insta in which we each get assigned another lacquerista in secret and we copy a manicure from them. I'm @bettinas.nails over there and the person I copied is @holonessie. I loved her composition for paraphrasing this painting; she came up with the idea to have the bridge cross over two nails.
Everything you see is plain regular lacquer, mostly cremes but also some crellies.
I classify my style of painting to be "muck around and hope for the best!" 🤫 Usually the macro reveals detail also to me that I was not aware of. Most of the time it's really cool brushstrokes and sometimes it's teeny tiny cathairs 😊 You win some, you lose some. But really. I learned a lot from Paul Clark for water coloring (he's awesome), and I recall he said in one of his tutorials, that he's just gonna let the paint do its own thing and hope that something cool happens. I'm living by this rule since! 💚
Last pic is my Cindy hand with my cat.
