hi, this is my first post in this sub and I'm creating it on my phone so my apologies if this is formated oddly or if questions are not allowed please let me know! but I've run into an issue with this l.a. girl 2 in 1 base and top coat, I adore the polish but I've found that after application it peels and is almost like it never dries, even after letting it dry without touch for 20 minutes it both peels and intends to the smallest touch, the layers of coloured polish were dried for 10min per layer, so the coloured polish was dried, but it fully peels down to the bottom, and I do nail prep, dry and file, ect. so am I not properly using the coat or not letting it dry, ir is it simply a known con to the polish? thank you in advance for any answers and my utmost apologies if this is against any rules I may have missed! (colour is essie 'no to-do' and is just such a pretty brown!)

  1. 2-in-1 base/top coats are pretty much universally garbage, tbh! Invest in a good quick-dry top coat! Look through posts on r/redditlaqueristas to see what products different people use/how their results turn out; a product list is required on all the posts so it’s easy to browse and get an idea of what products people tend to use more than others

  2. You need a good base and a quick dry top coat (like the red sally hansen one) as it will set all the layers. Try to do thin coats and build it up rather than fewer thick coats. ❤️

  3. So, any top coat that is not “quick dry” is going to take forever to dry and won’t dry all the layers. I’d recommend seeing if you can get or if a store near you has a quick dry top coat that you can pick up.

2 in 1 base/top coats are notoriously not going to be very good at this unfortunately :/ a quick drying one is formulated to dry all the layers of polish together and more quickly, since when you add a coat of polish or top coat it does “re-wet” the layer/s underneath it.

You can also look into nail polish drying drops, I’m not as familiar there so I can’t give much advice but it might be an option for you 🙂
