Hope i am not jinxing myself with this post…I am HARD on my nails. Work has me constantly washing and sanitizing my hands so they're very dry and I think contributes to making my nails brittle. And having kids and pets and I dishwasher so I wash dishes by hand (I finally invested in cleaning gloves 😅). But every time I do my nails they chip or peel off in one piece! (Even when I've done dip or get manis in salons they pop off. I guess its my nail chem. Only nail wraps seem to last the best for me) I've tried many different base coats, I love mooncat and kb shimmer. But I never used the Rubberized base coats because I've read on here how they can damage brittle nails like mine more but I was desperate. I usually have to redo or touch up my nails every 2 to 3 days and there's ALWAYS chips but this time I caved and used Orly Rubberized base coat, and I think it's working for me so far. Now day 3 no chips or peeling off! Hopefully I can get a few more days of my polish without it coming off because I have bought so many beautiful colors from brands and I want them to last more than 3 days!

I used 1 layer of mooncat Hardcore Base coat, then 1layer of Orly Rubberized base coat, and 2 thin coats of Extra Celestial and 1 layer of mooncat speed demon. Hopefully it will last!

TLDR: I have constantly had problems with polish chipping and popping off in less than 5 days. This new application system I tried has now been 3 days no chipping no popping off!

  1. ORLY Bonder works great for me as well; I have somewhat flexible nails and rubberized bases help the polish bend and (hopefully) not break when the nail inevitably bends.

    Love this color on you!

Never heard of this, I will have to check it out, I’ve had this same problem, they all flake off in one whole big piece for the most part.

My most recent and long lasting has been using modelones primer and UV cure base coat, think I’m going on 4 or 5 days now. It just seems like nothing adheres very well even though I clean them first and clean with acetone…
