Hello Laqueristas,

I really like how almond nails look but my nails have a strong C and I'm not sure if I can shape them to almonds. Do you think this is doable? Any recommendations or instructions?

Thank you!

Yes you can absolutely shape them to almonds! I have a strong C curve too. What I’ve found to be helpful is filing the outside curve horizontally instead of vertically. Like with the flat of the file facing upwards. That way you’re not accidentally filing your sidewall. I’m sure there’s a YouTube video about how to do it!

Yes, I do more of a pointy claw shape, but if I haven’t done it for a while after a break and they’re grown out long enough, I use toenail clippers to get the basic pointed shape. Then I file the sides to be more straight instead of the curved shape from the clippers. To do almond I would leave just a tiny bit of space where the triangle “point” should meet and then round out the triangle tip to be more almond shaped. I have a strong c curve too.

You definitely can, but a strong c-curve with the sidewalls left intact gives your nails much more structural integrity, like how arches support architectural structures. When I filed my sides down to a true almond shape, I got breaks a lot more easily.

Now I do this sort of hybrid cathedral-like shape that gives me a pointy point without losing structure 🙂 here’s a few different angles because this shape can be a little tricky to figure out 😅

  4. You can and you should! 😻 That would look amazing. I have a strong c curve and I find almond and stiletto to be the easiest shapes for me.

  5. For your nail shape I would suggest russian almond. It would look the same from above but it will let you keep your c curve intact.
