Hi, every time I've ever gotten a manicure, my cuticles do this afterward. I apply TONs of moisturizer, cuticle oil multiple times a day, nothing helps. Anyone else get this? Do I just have to ask them to never cut my cuticles?
It’s because their cutting them. It causes the skin to start peeling. My cuticles were randomly looking long so I cut them for for first time in years and this happened to me. They aren’t meant to be cut. Just keep moisturizing constantly and in a week they should be back to normal. And no cutting them again

Some people are just sensitive to having the cuticles cut. I never have any issues but I know a lot of people do. Did they use cuticle remover as well or just did the cutting?

I would do cuticle oil multiple times a day even when they are in a good place. That has made the biggest difference for me.
Then we you get a manicure do cuticle remover gel the day before and gently push back with an orange stick or tool. If you manage your cuticle area yourself you will have a better experience at the salon.

I rarely ever see this, but there are people that can’t have cuticle cutting because of this…I usually default to efile cuticle treatments, with great results, so maybe find a private tech that offers that?

If you have a LUSH store nearby, they have an amazing cuticle butter called Lemony Flutter. It definitely helps mine! 💖

I wonder if they aren’t removing/ neutralizing the cuticle remover correctly.
$1.25 at dollar tree. Handy little brush so you can be precise. The oil doesn’t get all over your hands. Worked wonders for me! I know you said you’ve tried multiple products…but this one is super handy.

No they should never touch your cuticles. Tell them as soon as you sit in the chair, please don’t cut or touch my cuticles.

When I do go for manicures, which is extremely rare these days, I always request that they do not cut my cuticles. Mine look just like this within a few days even when going to a highly reputable salon that have taken genuine care with cutting them. I think that some people are just sensitive to having them cut.

When you go to bed at night, lather on aquafor all over your hands and cover your hands in cotton socks. Go to sleep like that. Do this every night.

I used to have this issue but I started using cuticle oil after cutting them. Never happened again.
