A puff piece from CNN about elf and its CEO: "The dupes, mixed with clever marketing campaigns, sparked success among Gen Z consumers: 'We sometimes say we’re an entertainment company that happens to sell beauty products,' Amin said."

An interesting take after the backlash their recent campaigns have generated.

Elf were successful firstly for being cheap and then for copying other products.

Once they started ‘marketing campaigns’ it all fell apart.

      So this is hilarious.

      > clever marketing campaigns

Hiring misogynist men that don’t wear makeup for a makeup commercial, then getting mad at the consumer for their commercials going down like a lead balloon is now apparently a clever marketing campaign lol.

    3. Are they actually going to *hire* someone from Gen Z (the oldest of whom are in their 20s)? Or are they just going to keep throwing patronizing shit at the wall and seeing what doesn’t bomb?
