I’ve been using tretinoin at night for a while to manage acne and early fine lines. Recently, I got a Ulike LED mask and wondered if I could combine the two without irritating my skin.

Here’s what’s been working for me so far:

Timing: I keep tretinoin at night and use the LED mask the next day or whenever my skin feels calm. Doing them too close together makes my skin red and dry.

Tretinoin tips: Start slow (2–3 times a week), moisturize well, and always use sunscreen during the day. My skin tolerates it better this way.

LED mask tips: Always start with clean skin. I pick the mode based on what my skin needs. Sessions are usually 10–20 minutes, sometimes 5–10 if my skin is sensitive. I follow up with moisturizer.

My routine:

Night: Cleanse β†’ tretinoin β†’ moisturizer

Next day: Cleanse β†’ toner β†’ LED mask β†’ moisturizer β†’ sunscreen (SPF 30+)

Separating the two has kept my skin calm. I’ve noticed my texture feels smoother and breakouts are a bit less frequent.

I’ve found separating the two really helps. Curious if anyone else has tips or a routine that works well for sensitive skin?

  1. I’ve been using the Ulike LED mask too, and it works really well for me. I just cleanse my face, apply a basic hydrating toner, and skip any active or strong ingredients while using the mask. Then I choose the mode that suits my skin and do the session. Afterward, I follow up with moisturizer and continue with the rest of my routine. My skin feels bouncy and healthy, and I haven’t had any irritation at all.
