I recently purchased the Hince True Radiance Balm in Light and Translucent, and so far I don’t rate it. I have tried layering it different products and it always lifts the product below. It seems the only way this highlighter can be worn is on a completely bare face.
It lifts my cream blush, cream contour, powder blush especially, and the edges of my concealer. I never swipe it directly onto my skin, but rather pat it on with my finger. I presumed it might lift my powder a bit my I didn’t expect it to lift my cream products too. I’ve also tried using a non-AB hydrating/setting spray to lock in my cream and powder layers before applying it, and it still lifted everything.
It’s usually the finishing step so incredibly frustrating to undo my whole cheek area. Yes it’s gorgeous, but now I finally understand what people mean when they some products take too much work. It was the last type of product I thought I’d have to work this hard as in my experience, cream products and cream highlighters in particularly are a quick and easy situation.
If anyone has any tips on how they use this, or other highlighters that have no glitter and don’t do this, would be great to hear. I do love the finish of both of these products, and their longevity isn’t bad considering they’re balms. I just don’t like what they’re doing to the rest of my makeup.

Have you tried only putting it on after putting foundation or your base instead of having it as the last step in your routine? I find it works best to be done after putting on my cushion foundation, or maybe using a dense makeup sponge to dab it on?
I honestly just use my finger tips to warm up the product and gently tap it on my cheek/highlight point of my face. If it use the stick directly on my face it will definitely undo all my make up.
i always wear it on a full face of make up and it looks great, doesn’t seperate. the key is to apply it on with your finger and dab very lightly. I always put it as the very last step of make up – after foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, powder – and then hince balm
