Here’s a review of my current hair routine catered to dry, damaged hair. I spent hours researching and comparing ingredients, formulas, etc and wanted to share my results —especially after my hairdresser asked me what I was using to keep my hair so smooth.

Hair Type/Concerns

-bleached and colour treated
-dry, fragile, damaged ends (with the inevitable frizz)
-high porosity
-oily roots

(My natural hair is light in colour, thin but very dense and slightly wavy for context)

After comparing roughly ten shampoos, Melty Moist stood out compared to others because of its unique formulation containing natural ingredients and few harsh surfactants. Despite the price tag, I bought it. And thanks to a BOGO promotion at my local Asian product retailer, I got the treatment/conditioner and oil afterwards.

Personal Experience

Shampoo: After using a purple shampoo for my first wash, I then go in with a small pump of Melty shampoo.

It lathers amazingly, smells great and my hair feels instantly smooth after. When I tell you my hair felt salon treated after a single wash, I’m not exaggerating.

(For those with less dense and less oily hair, a double wash might not be necessary, but I’ve found it makes a huge difference for me and I end up using very little of the precious Melty Moist but get all the benefits)

Treatment: After rinsing the shampoo, I use 1-2 pumps of the treatment, finger comb it through, leave it in while I go about the rest of my shower, and rinse.

The consistency is quite unique and not very liquid, but glides well and rinses nicely too

Oil: When my hair is mostly dry after a shower or whenever I’m about to style it/find it needs to be tamed a bit, I use about one pump of oil spread through my hands and work it through the dry ends gently or to smooth frizz down.

The smell is nice and light, and despite being yellow, the colour isn’t noticeable on my light hair.

Only Drawbacks

-Price tag: all product are over $20 USD
-Accessibly: not available everywhere IRL or online
-Texture: conditioner has a unique jelly-like texture not everyone might like and the oil is a pain to get off your hands due to viscosity
-Fragrance: although light, all products contain fragrance

Final Thoughts / Verdict

*If you have the budget, I 100% recommend the shampoo. Every time I use it I’m amazed with how soft my hair looks and feels.
Damage hair approved and new holy grail 👍🏻

*The conditioner is great and I can actually comb through my wet hair with no issue after use. If can afford it, give it a try.

*The oil has made my hair super soft and smooth and doesn’t require much. Will likely last a long time and great for smoothing but curious how it stacks up to other oils as I haven’t tried many

TLDR: Overall, using all three has left my hair looking newer and softer than I could have imagined. They all addressed my hair concerns and I don’t see myself switching anytime soon.

Let me know your thoughts and experiences. I can also share the detailed breakdowns and comparison between the Melty Moist shampoo and other top selling Asian shampoos like the famous Shiseido Tsubaki. Hope this was helpful ♥︎

Fine curly medium porosity hair over here, the Melty Moist is my HG ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ if you can find the step 1.5 deep treatment which is the hair mask you do in between shampoo and conditioner I highly recommend that, I do it every other week for 2-3 minutes or for 5-7 minutes after dyeing my hair and it works miracles.
