And I owe it all to this sub and the salon life on YouTube!! I stumbled across this video of my nails right before getting a fresh set of acrylics in 2020. I didn’t get acrylics that often, but when I did, I ripped them off and my nails looked like the top pic until they grew out again🫠
After being a nail biter/picker and keeping my nails as short as possible for my whole life because I thought they wouldn’t grow (WRONG) I discovered this hobby in September of last year. Even when I started painting my nails, I really thought I was a shorty girl at heart….. until I realized my nails were actually strong af!!!
I’ve literally learned EVERYTHING from this sub and I’m so so grateful to finally be proud of my nails and love how my hands look! Doing my nails has become such a fun hobby of mine and I will never stop for as long as I live lol😆 thank you to this community for being the best!! (Nail care routine and tips in comments)

NAIL CARE TIPS AND ROUTINE
Outside of my weekly manicures, I really don’t do much except oiling my nails multiple times a day. Here’s what helped my grow my nails out:
1. Nailtiques Formula 2. This is what started it all! I saw someone recommend it on tik tok (thank u Ally Rooker) and I gave it a shot on my natural nails. Now I use it as a base coat for all my manis, and I think it really contributes to the overall strength of my nails and retention of my polish.
2. JOJOBA OIL! You know her and you love her and she solves all of our nails problems. Everything changed once I started oiling my nails 3-4 times a day!
3. Cuticle remover. I use blue cross once a week and it works great for me! I use a cuticle pusher (gently) and Blue Cross to get off any cuticle build up on my nail plate. Now my cuticles are in great shape and rarely need any help because of my regular maintenance.
That’s basically it! I use glass files and always have 4-5 coats of polish on at all times. My nails are so happy and healthy now <3
Your bare nails look strong af! Congratulations on your astounding progress
