My Lisa Eldridge Velvet Cinnabar broke, and I decided to restore it. Bought a mold off Amazon, put the lipstick in a cup and set it in a microwave. It melted ever so slightly.

Then, I set up a waterbath and moved the cup there. After 5 minutes or so, it was still the texture of a playdough left in the bright sun.

The final result was the cup covered in a thin layer of pigment. Nothing that I could pour into the mold. Straight to the bin it goes.

Well, at least I panned a lipstick, right?

Uh, to be honest with you, that’s not the regular process for melting and moulding lipsticks. Can’t blame the lipstick before giving it a fair shot :/

hair dryer? i had this issue and just scooped it into a small container but i’ve seen success with a hair dryer being used to melt things more nicely into pans etc
