Hey hey, anyone here into Japanese magazines? They’re so generous with samples! I grabbed the May issue of VoCE from my local Japanese bookstore. It mainly features skincare and makeup—mostly department store brands—but it’s super popular in Japan (and China) and a lot of people use it as a go-to for beauty trends. They even have skincare pros reviewing the latest products.

I got it mostly for the samples—especially FAS The Black Cream. It’s a new brand from Kyoto that uses fermented black beans and rice. The issue also came with N Organic Cleansing Gel, Ekato’s UV Makeup Base, Obagi Vitamin C lotion and some Sekkisei items.

Do you guys buy Japanese magazines too? I think they’re a fun way to discover more about Japanese beauty brands. VoCE even has a YouTube channel if you’re curious!

You must be really good at Japanese 😭 I’m still studying…
I think in Japan, analog media is still more convenient for daily life than digital.
I live in Korea, so I’m not too sure, but whenever I traveled to Japan, I vaguely remember always seeing more newspapers and magazines rather than the internet or webtoons haha~~
