perhaps the ugliest pan on god's green earth but i finally managed to finish the nyx fat oil lip drip in newsfeed. my thoughts on the product (+ the reason the lid is broken) below
OK SO my thoughts:
the formula of this product is nice. i’ve never really used many lip oils before but this one is not too sticky (although some others, like the e.l.f. ones, seem to have a more slippy/less sticky finish). doesn’t dry out my lips, keeps them moist, decent lasting time for a gloss (tbh i feel like expecting longevity from a lipgloss type thing is setting yourself up to be let down)
HOWEVER i have two major gripes with this product:
1. the colour. this one is entirely my fault because i failed to consider how a bright bluish/pinkish red would look on me, a person with pale neutral/warm skin who often gets spots. unless i used a very light hand and/or applied it with other products (bear in mind i have very few lip products to begin with), it made me look jaundiced and emphasised my blemishes. not great. i ended up mostly using it as a lip balm type thing at home.
2. the packaging. now THIS really drove me ballistic. it is incredibly messy. no matter how careful i was when using this product it would inevitably end up *everywhere.*
the product somehow got between the two different parts of the cap (green cap + white part holding the wand in place) and must’ve damaged the glue holding them together or something, because they kept separating. i’d go to unscrew the cap and just take the green part off, leaving the white wand holder still in place + covered in lip oil. when i tried to stick them back together, there was some kind of adverse reaction with the green plastic cap, and the top disintegrated when i grabbed it the following day leaving the weird little nub you see in the photos. not ideal.
all in all i don’t think i’d repurchase this BUT i might get another lip oil in future if i find one with packaging that isn’t complete terrible ass.
