The majority of the Korean/Japanese lip product swatches online are on light skin tones so it can be difficult to see how it would look on someone that isn't pale. If there are swatches on brown/black people, they're usually wrist swatches which aren't accurate to how the product would look on your lips.

I thought it'd be helpful to share some lip swatches in this thread esp for people who can't swatch these products in person.

      MY REVIEW:

The majority of these photos are of a Pakistani brand Zayfied also called Zay Beauty. I really wanted to share these photos because the website + influencer reviews were veryyy inaccurate. It’s advertised as a brown girl friendly brand but the nude shades they advertise (Meena, Arfa) show up as patchy concealer lips on me. I gave them to a friend who has darker skin because the owner of Zay beauty has medium to dark brown skin so I thought maybe they’d suit someone that has a similar skin tone. My friend didn’t like them either and she said maybe they’re for very pale people because they weren’t brown girl friendly at all.

Similarly, Sidrah is advertised as a pinkish brown shade but it’s actually a deep brown. So I wanted to share these in case someone in Pakistan wanted to try out these lip colours.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot to love about these liquid lipsticks because most of them are *really* pigmented. I LOVE Heba. I don’t understand why they haven’t made Heba a regular shade. It’s only available in a mini bundle called the Subtle Shehzadi.

Problem is, I don’t want the rest of those shades. Meena and Arfa are extremely dull and Zainab is too intense. I love the pigment in Zainab but how often am I going to wear a dark brown shade? It looks too strong for work and if I’m out with friends or family I usually get pinks or reds.

I have started blending Zainab with other shades if I want a darker colour but I’m not sure if I’ll ever use it on its own.

My second problem with Zayfied is that these lipsticks are NOT transfer proof. I don’t care what anyone says, these spread like crazy. My first week of wearing these three different coworkers pointed out that I had lipstick smudges on my upper lip.

I’m not that picky, I don’t mind reapplying lipstick after eating food, but with this lipstick if you eat food your lipstick spreads everywhere. I remember the owner of Zayfied made a reel saying that Zainab can be used as a lip liner too. I have tried that and it doesn’t work because the product bleeds.

But I didn’t give up lol. I spent money on these lipsticks and I was hell bent on getting my money’s worth. Now what I do is I only apply lipstick on the inside of my lips so when the product spreads it covers the rest of my lips by default.

This doesn’t always work because there are parts of your cupid’s bow that are missing product or the corners of your lip line. For that, I’m gonna get a lip liner but for now I just take the smallest amount of product and dab it a little below my cupid’s bow so it doesn’t bleed.

Point being, the product is work and it requires some patience lol. The thing is, I do love some of these shades. I absolutely love Sumi, I’m sure I’ll repurchase this. I’ve asked the brand to consider making Heba a full size lipstick that I can buy on its own but they haven’t responded to me.

For a lot of people, Sidrah is the perfect nude and I am leaning towards buying that as an alternative to Heba. The shades aren’t similar at all but it’s the closest thing I have tbh.

BUT if you do plan on buying Sidrah please be wary that the formula is prone to crumble if you apply more than one layer. Since Heba is basically finished I’ve been using Sidrah but after applying it I use a tissue to dab off excess product. Otherwise the shade really accentuates your lip lines.

The shades Mona and Willa are also nice but they have the same issue of smudging as I mentioned earlier.

The peripera ink velvet wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t the right shade for me. I prefer warm tones and idk why I reallyy didn’t like how it looked. It’s just my perception though because someone in the Makeupaddiction sub really liked how the shade looked on me. I ended up giving it to my sister because she likes cool toned lip products.

My AB lip wishlist at the moment:
      1. Peripera Cinnamon Nude
      2. Peripera Well-made Nude
      3. Romand Pink Pumpkin
      4. Romand Dark Coconut or Almond Rose.
      5. Peripera Ink Mood Matte Tint in Makeup Chilli or Almond Rose.
