Before I share my thoughts, here’s a background about my skin type and climate: I would say I have fairly normal skin that is somewhat dry that is not particularly sensitive. I also live in a country with hot and humid summers and dry winters. I will leave an individual review about each product in the comments!

    1. VT Cosmetics Cica Mild Foam Cleanser – starting with the only non J-beauty item on this list. I mainly used this as my night time face wash after the &honey cleansing oil (will review below). I enjoyed this cleanser because it comes in a large size for a good price, and thoroughly cleansed my skin without drying it out. It’s reliable and lasted me several months! WRP

Melano CC Deep Clear Enzyme Cleanser – I used this cleanser mainly in the morning. It is a bit more on the drying side, but I didn’t have any issues with it. I like the slight citrus scent that it has, and I feel like it helped in brightening my overall complexion. WRP but probably only during spring/summer months as it is slightly on the drying side.

Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion – I used this lotion (toner) both in the morning and night. I also enjoyed using it on my body after taking a shower. It does have a slight sake scent, but I don’t mind it. I found it to be highly moisturizing/have a slightly soft texture. I prefer it over Naturie Hatomuhi Skin Conditioner and love how long it lasts! WRP but also want to try the other lotions/products from this brand.

Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Lotion – I mainly used this in the morning after washing my face with the Melano CC cleanser. Maybe because I chose the lighter version, I didn’t find it to be super hydrating, but did notice that it did brighten my complexion and help with fading dark spots. That being said, WNRP because I started using Aqualabel’s brightening lotion and like it more.

Anessa Night Sun Care Serum – This is marketed as nighttime repair care serum for days where you’re outside for a long time in Japan. Despite it being called a ‘serum’ I think it’s more like a light moisturizer or emulsion. It has a bit of a cooling effect which is nice in summer, but it has a strong lavender scent which I found to be off putting after a while. It’s also kind of expensive (probably bc it’s Anessa) and I didn’t really see any noteworthy changes in my skin after using it. WNRP but was fun to try out.

&honey Skin Care Cleansing Oil – I fairly enjoyed using this cleansing oil because it smells like orange honey and is not stripping. It also does a good job at removing makeup (including waterproof mascara) and sunscreen. That being said, I think the texture is a bit too thick. WNRP because I think there are better cleansing oils out there.
