Japan Everyday Product Review

I’m interning in Japan for the summer and having a blast trying out all the new products! I apologize in advance cause this is gonna be a long one!

Skin type: combo, dry tzone, oily cheeks

1. Skin Aqua Super Moisture UV Essence 7.5/10
   (New packaging looks pretty cool, I think they reformulated too) spf50 and gives my skin such a pretty glow, might be greasy if you have oily skin, typical sunscreen-ish smell but fades fast and isn’t strong. Quite moisturizing, no white cast, and didn’t pill under make up.
   I got mine for relatively cheap and I like it though I might not rebuy if I find other formulas I like.

2. Shiseido AqualLabel White Clear Foam 10/10
   Has little granules in them, but they wash off and don’t irritate my skin. You need a tiny amt as this thing foams up like crazy. To me it has a relative luxurious feel, didn’t dry out my skin, and gave me really soft skin the morning along with helping with my texture.
   I would definitely rebuy, I love the formula and it definitely made my skin a lot smoother.

3. Hado Labo Shirojyun Premium Lotion 9/10
   Lovely brightening toner and I adore the liquidy and lightweight feel. Slightly sticky at first but fast drying. Pretty moisturizing, but definitely something you want to layer with.
   Although I genuinely liked the product especially that the ingredient list didn’t contain fragrance or oils, I’m considering purchasing gokujyun for a more moisturizing alternative.

4. Matsukiyo (Matsumoto Kiyoshi In House Brand) Ceramide Skin Lotion 6/10
   Watery toner, perfect for layering as it’s not too moisturizing in a single layer
   Nothing much about it, but very very cheap (¥350) so I’ll rebuy just to drench myself in it lol

5. Hada Labo Gokujyun Perfect Gel 3/10
   Nice moisturizing gel, very sticky tho. I normally use this as a nighttime moisturizer because it pills so much on everything; sunscreen, makeup, etc. I do love the way my skin looks in the morning but I can’t handle the pilling.
   If it weren’t for the awful pilling then I’d rank it higher but this is a firm no for me.

6. MediHeal Teatree Calming Hydrogel 9/10
   Another gel moisturizer, really helped with my redness. Unfortunately not too moisturizing but it sits well under makeup and sunscreen. Has a mild teatree herbal-ish scent but fades fast.
   I’m loving this product! Super cheap and it’s been a holy grail in getting rid of my acne, definitely would rebuy.

7. Sana Suhada Kinebi Powder in NO1 Nude Beige 7/10
   Claims to have skincare properties but I’m not too sure what. Does the job for a powder, blurs my pores with no white veil. Light fragrance but not when on face. Lasted a good 5-6hrs before I got oily and had to touch up.
   I like it but I wouldn’t rebuy just so I can try other powders and compare.

8. Romand Glasting Colour Gloss in 06 Deepen Moor 8/10
   A pretty neutral nude brown shade with a bit of red undertone. Very nourishing formula but it’s a tad sticky. The gloss is incredibly high shine and actually covers up my lip lines nicely. There is a slight fruity scent though and it turns pretty sheer over time.
   It’s a solid gloss though I personally wouldn’t rebuy it as I find I have issues with pigment separation when I rub my lips. I haven’t heard of anyone else mentioning that so I would still recommend it.

9. Etude Fixing Tint in 06 Soft Walnut 5/10
   A warm brownish red shade and honestly I have a love hate relationship with this formula. I know it’s matte but it’s so drying and clings to certain parts of the lip or it emphasizes all the dry parts. It also smudges quite a bit and I’ve just turned to blotting off the top until it stops coming off. However, the stain really long lasting and hides my lip lines well. I’ve also gotten plenty of interesting compliments while wearing it though perhaps they’re just not as used to a guy (for context I’m androgynous leaning and work out quite a bit so I’m sure it’s confusing lol). Anyways, they have a very mild baby powder like scent. Mini warning not all off the colours look like the images.
   Yup, love hate relationship. I would not buy this again.

10. Canmake Colourful Nails Polish in N82 Cloudless Sky 8/10
    Perfect for jelly nails as the layers are sheer and give a lovely shiny opaque finish. I especially love the fast drying formula and light shimmer in it.
    Definitely would rebuy, I’m looking forward to trying the other colours as well.
