In terms of getting it out, you’ll basically need to scoop it out – I know a lot of people who have used a metal spatula specifically for depotting when it comes to that, for my cream contour stick I used a plastic spatula I typically use for scooping moisturizers that come in a pot form, and some people for smaller containers have suggested things like clean dental tools or toothpicks.

However, I believe when it comes to lip products most people who get it out usually have to melt and reset it, and then usually after that it requires a lip brush or their finger or something along those lines. There’s also no guarantee that melting and resetting it will have the same color/consistency (I think this is relatively rare but can happen, depending on the original formulation, so just something to be aware of as I’ve seen posts on reddit of people who melted their lip products and then the color changed when it set).

[Here’s a tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRTvl8k9Qbs) I found that specifically is about trying to dig through a lipstick that is essentially just what’s left in the tube, and they use that melting method. r/zpaletteporn could also help give guidance if you have more questions!

Edit to add: After a bit of searching, I also found [this tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX-Yq2fyQSo) that doesn’t require heat and you can see around 2:30 to 3:00 her digging the lipstick out and how she smoothes it in the well that she had. That could also be an option if you don’t want to go through the hassle of melting/resetting!
