I’ve used BOJ sun cream for a couple of years and I will not dispute its acclaim. It is a nicely moisturizing sun cream and it doesn’t leave any white cast.
Lately for me, however, it isn’t as great as it used to be. My skin is changing a bit as I’m getting older but I still have a pretty classic case of combination skin (I get shiny through my forehead and on my nose by the end of day and my cheeks have a tendency toward dryness). Lately my BOJ sun cream just doesn’t work under my makeup. I’ve been getting really bad separation on my oily t-zone. My makeup products remain the same as have my skincare products, with the exception of starting tret 1x/week (now 2x). But my problem with BOJ began before the tret so that’s not the cause.
I just purchased this Missha Essence sun cream 45+++ from Yesstyle because it was on sale and it had good reviews. I have also purchased and am waiting on the Birch Juice, and two from skin1004 (their madasgar centella air-fit and hyalu-cica water-fit serum).
But, you guys, I think people are sleeping on this Missha Essence sun cream. It’s very nicely moisturizing and hydrating but leaves absolutely zero oiliness behind (as BOJ does for my t-zone). There is no white cast, no sticky feeling whatsoever, and it is very lightweight. It’s water resistant, sweat resistant, and oil-free.
The only thing I *don’t* love about it is the mild fragrance. It’s not perfumed, per se, but does have a mild floral fragrance (likely from the lotus, chrysanthemum and camellia extracts that it contains) so it might not suit those of you with very sensitive skin. But if you’re like me with non-reactive and combination skin I really think it’s worth trying.
P.S. this isn’t meant to be a bashing of BOJ, I’m just using it as a reference for me and my experience. As I said, I used it successfully for a couple of years but have recently had to part ways with it. 🤷♀️

Missha spf is consistently great, I’ve never met one I didn’t like
I’ve been using the daily sun screen from Missha with spf50 (white and blue packaging similar to the picture) for years. Never had any issues and it never irritated my sensitive skin. Super light and non greasy. Recently switched to the spf45 with the pink pictured here. But, my eyes sting to the point of tears after a couple hours of wearing it! I’m not sure if it’s the fragrance or the formula 🙁
