For you normal lacquer girlies…

I admittedly do wash my hands often, as I’m a vet tech. And for pain management I like to take (nearly) nightly soaks in my bath or hot tub. So I used to try two coats of base coat, two coats of polish. One coat top coat. I tried two coats top coat and didn’t notice a difference in length of wear. I usually get through 2 work days and it starts chipping.

And my nails just aren’t doing well since I decided to start using lacquer. Before, they were fine. Wonderful. Never had issues with them peeling. Now I do have issues with that. Deciding to polish was the difference.

I wondered if the basecoats and chipping of polish is causing the nail peeling and if a peely base coat would prevent it.

Picture of Mooncat- Merkitten for tax. Mooncat basecoat and top coat used as well.

  2. Is your nail bed peeling or is it the polish? I don’t want to misunderstand your issue. I would say try using a nourishing base coat like Olive Ave’s one. Or use a treatment coat like one of the ones from Ella Milla then use regular base coat before you go in with polish.
