the palette is “Oh my look!” by Deliplus

i have a long story with this palette – it was one of the first (if not the first?) i bought back when i started getting into makeup, which was 3-4 years ago. it’s from a spanish supermarket’s house brand

i told myself i’d pan 01 and 06, i really id, and maybe even 03 and 04… but after taking it with me with every single trip as my travel palette, and getting to know it really well, it think it’s finally time to say bye 😀

01 is the reason is stuck with this palette – a really, really pretty, especially under the sunlight, champagne shimmer. beautiful as an inner corner highlight, too. however during this current trip i realized… i’m not as in love with it anymore? i don’t know if the formula changed, but, it just really killed my motivation 🙁

02 is an… okay shimmer. not particularly shimmery. i did use it what i felt was fairly often but clearly not, lol. i used it more often on the outer corner

03 and 04 were fairly serviceable mattes. not great on their own for an all-matte look, but defintiely worked very well on the crease, pretty good mid-tone colors on my skintone and fairly easily blendable, just fairly powdery

05 and 07 were… less good mattes. patchy, hard to apply and to blend. i used them in the outer corner and under the eyes and they complimented the other colors well, but especially on the outer corner i had to be very careful with them, as they would remain where you initially placed them, and it was hard to place them on the creasy part of my eyes. these shades i knew i would never pan, lol. i do have a fair dip on 07 though! i sometimes used 05 as an eyeliner

06 of course i used as a base and to blend and as you can see it worked very well for that 😀

08… oh god. it’s supposed to be “pearly” as opposed to the shimmers but it’s… first of all, it got weird and greasy over time, i can’t remember if it was that way from the beginning. i feel i could never made a dent in it, and it could only be applied with my finger. and it looked… almost exactly like 02? just redder. and finally, it was not pearly, not shimmery, just BARELY satin. i think a lot of people love satins as something “like matte but better”, but i just got almost nothing out of it 🙁

why did i write so much on a limited-edition supermarket palette? 😀 well… it’s not the best i’ve had, clearly, but i got a LOT of use out of it, and i taught me a LOT about makeup techniques and preferences. i just have no much use for it anymore, now that i have palettes i like much more waiting for me to use them. farewell, loyal friend
