Awww love to see this one loved. I bought mine a year ago and am just now appreciating it and all its shiny ethereal duochrome glory 🥹. It’s perfect for winter makeup as well ❄️🥶

So impressive! Do you use cosmic love every day/on the lid? I’m at the point where I have an office job but I’m switching it up and adding sparkle post-Xmas so I can enjoy this palette!

This is the Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Palette. I bought it January 13, 2022 as a birthday gift to myself. It was the only palette I bought that year and here it is, two years later. Over the last couple of years I’ve tried to reduce the size of my makeup collection and minimize the amount of make up I’m bringing into my life. At this point for non-eyeshadow cosmetics I have a strict one-out-one-in policy meaning I have to fully pan an item before buying another in that category but eyeshadow is a little trickier. Instead, I have opted to allow myself one eyeshadow palette purchase a year (as a birthday gift to myself haha).
I really loved this palette when it released and used it a ton. In fact, in 2022 I reached for it 100 times. In particular I really loved the pinks and the purples, they were really fun to play with. The shimmers are my kind of formula, very shimmery and impactful. The duochromes have a stunning iridescence to them that make them feel as special as my indie duochromes. The mattes are a more firm formula with next-to-no fall out and require building which is my preference for mattes.
However, in 2023, my lifestyle changed a lot. Additionally, for six months of the year I was separated from 90% of my makeup collection including this eye palette and only reached for it 55 times. This year my goal is to learn how to use this palette for my everyday looks and hit pan on my favourite shades in the palette (Blissful, Moon Magic, Abundance). I realized I wasn’t even using my favourite shades in the palette because I was saving them for “special occasions” that only really happy 3-5 times a year.
Now, for some fun numbers on the five pans I’ve hit!
* Cosmic Love, hit pan Dec 29 2022 after 27 uses. I really loved this shade as a lid shade however I found that because it’s marbled the colour isn’t the same everytime. Now that I’ve worn into the pan more it’s a much darker purple than it used to be which I don’t love as much.
* Empowered, hit pan Jan 10 2024 (!!!!) after 57 uses. I used this a bunch to deepen the outer corner or lash line. I used this a lot as a smudgey liner.
* Joy, hit pan March 21 2023 after 28 uses. I liked this sheered out all over the lid for a fun pink look.
* Cherished, hit pan March 28 2023 after 21 uses. This was a suuuuper light pink that I mostly used mixed with Happiness or underneath Joy.
* Self Love, hit pan November 27 2022 after 28 uses. I really liked using the lighter part of this on a small detail brush as an inner corner highlight and all of the shades mixed together on the lid.
What I found interesting was that my most used shades (Radiate with 65 uses and Mantra with 60 uses) don’t have pan on them and honestly look nowhere close. I think this is why “hitting pan” can sometimes have more to do with the formula and brushes you use that the amount of usage on a product. I’ve also used the icky gel shadow Love Stone precisely once.
