So, every time I ever post a haul in here that includes the Kao- megrytham steam masks, I always get a lot of questions.
I figured I would create a separate more detailed review
I’ll start with the kao megrytham steam eye masks .
What I love about them:
I love them for many reasons. I have pretty bad insomnia. I do find that they help me with sleep.
I get occular migraines as well as trigeminal neuralgia (really horrible pain around my eye/optic nerve) from a vaf accident in 2019.
I also have a neck injury from said accident.
They really help me focus on something else, sensory wise. The best and the plesent smell together is nice.
If my eyes ache at all, I find that I get relief pretty quickly.
They come in many different scents.
Lavender, forest, rose, mugwort, citrus (yuzu), chamomile and unscented.
My favorite is the mugwort and forest. I’m thinking they’ve discontinued both, which breaks my heart. On the official kao website scents listed are unscented, lavender-sage, chamomile-ginger, fresh rose and yuzu-citrus.
I’m wondering if they reformulated them (which will break my heart)
The website says “2x comfortable warm sensation due to temptation change and improved fit”
Who knows.
I really love the mugwort, but stylevana did not have the 120 piece option for it. So it would make sense they are discontinued.
They also do not need to be microwaved or anything. They start getting warm as soon as they hit the air and you open the package.
Some cons:
I would love the heat to last longer. I’m not sure if this is improved with the new ones like they say.
I sometimes put a plush eye mask over top of them to make them a little warmer and give a little pressure.

I was so excited for this one. They come in lavender or unscented.
As previously mentioned, I have a neck injury. I obviously love the eye masks, so I figured the neck would be wonderful.
Absolutely not. Was a miss. I didn’t feel any heat or steam at all. They did smell nice. They are a fair amount more expensive than the eye masks.
I had looked for them for so long. They were always out of stock on SV.
Definitely a letdown.
I *could* have just gotten a dud, maybe. I’ll try again I suppose, and update if it is any better.
I’m not holding my breath at all.
