I wish I had an ounce of your genius. A smidgen of your brilliance. I hope you get everything you want in life and then some.

Years ago, I bought a few magnetics because I was obsessed with the look of a glass bead mani. I was so disappointed when I put the top coat on that I only ever tried them a few other times through the years, to equal disappointment. I stowed them away and just moved on to my next obsession (flakies). Well, I saw that post about the base coat trick however many weeks back and decided to treat myself for my birthday to the 5D Spinner and a few magnetics that I've been eyeing from this sub (as well as brands I've wanted to try) because of the amazing results I saw. Folks, I'll never worry about top coating my magnetic manis ever again. I used a sticky base coat by KNI Beauty, Clionadh's "Baeocystin", and Essie's "Expressie Quick Dry" to create probably my favorite mani I've done so far!! I've been doing my own nails since middle school- lacquer, gel, dip, indies, flakies, thermals, duochromes, holos, all of it, and these magnetics have snatCHED my soul out of my body. Pictures don't even touch it. Thank you a million times to the brilliant minds who SOLVE MF PROBLEMS. I adore you. And I adore Clionadh's whole everything.

On the flip side – one day I was sleep deprived doing my mani and remembered the base coat hack..I reached for mooncats getting even, and then quickly realized my mistake as I saw the beautiful glass bead mani become covered in a light pink haze. 😂 I still have yet to try the base coat hack properly after that stupid mistake lol

What’s the base coat trick? Is it just using clear base coat instead of top coat?
