Products are mostly from the iconic hanbang skincare brand: The History of Whoo.
My background: 24 year old M with oily normal skin.
Most of the products are from lines developed for older skin types, but I tried them anyway.
Cheongidan Gun (Far right side):
This is a premium anti aging skincare line developed for men in their 40s and 50s, although I imagine men in their 30s can use it as well. This line gave me the most results and completely smoothed out my stubborn forehead texture, and made my skin appear more radiant and bouncy.
Products in the line:
• Cheongidan Gun Hwa Yun Skin Balancer
This product feels like a refreshing formula that revitalizes the skin after cleansing. It is extremely lightweight, yet has a slight thickness to it. The product has a masculine earthy cologne light scent that took some time getting used to, but is definitely a favorite.
•Cheongidan Gun Hwa Yun Treatment
The treatment serum from this line is probably my favorite product from the Whoo so far. The treatment serum contains a high concentration of 35 year old grown Wild Ginseng extract, Deer Velvet, and Cordyceps. The texture is bouncy and hydrating and is very similar to the Bichup anti aging concentrate.
Gongjinhyang firming line (Center middle)
This is the standard line of the History of Whoo and it features some amazing products.
•Gongjinhyang Essential Moisturizing Balancer
This is a very nice and lightweight hydrating toner. For extra hydration I would probably reach for the Cheongidan Gun, but as a lightweight toner after cleansing on hotter days it is my favorite. The scent is very light and floral.
•Gongjinhyang Essential Moisturizing Emulsion
This is a wonder lightweight moisturizer that I use in the morning under my sunscreen. Drier skins may prefer to layer this with a thicker moisturizer.
•Gongjinhyang intensive nutritive cream
Probably my FAVORITE moisturizer from
The History of Whoo. The cream features an elegant and lightweight silky formula that wraps the skin in a delicate protective blanket. Will for sure purchase the full size!
Bichup Line (center left):
The Bichup Line is probably the most recognizable line in the History of Whoo. It is an all encompassing line that older and younger skin types are recommended.
•Bichup Ultimate Youth Serum
I find this to be an excellent hydrating serum and I love to use it with the Gongjinhyang firming line. I find the Hwa Yun treatment to be better at giving my skin what it needs but this is a close second.
•Bichup Cream
This cream is lovely when I feel my skin needs a bit more than a lighter moisturizer. I think I would prefer this cream in the fall and winter as it is a little too thick for right now, but still really wonderful
Cheongidan line (Center Left):
The Cheongidan Line is a skincare line recommended for skin ages 40 and up.
•Cheongidan Radiant Balancer
If you have dry dehydrated skin this is the product for you. It’s a thick hydrating liquid that somehow still feels very lightweight. I’ve been reaching for it when my skin is irritated
•Cheongidan Radiant Emulsion
This feels very similar to the Gongjinhyang Emulsion but feels a little bit more emollient. Excellent product!
•Cheongidan Radiant Regenerating Eye Cream
I normally don’t use eye creams but this product might have just changed my mind. I used it because it was infused in the Bichup set and wasn’t expecting any results. I slowly over time noticed a difference in my under eye area. Nothing dramatic, but also very noticeable compared to what my regular moisturizers do.
Sunscreens:
•Isa Knox: UV Sun Pro Sun Fluid
This sunscreen is Odiles favorite sunscreen of all time, and she’s tried a lot of sunscreens, so I had to try it. This is an amazing sunscreen that can be worn as a daily commuting sunscreen, or for outdoor activities as it is waterproof. I used a lot and like to layer it without rubbing it in. Applying it like that without excess rubbing does make it look like there’s a white cast, but it disappears in minutes.
This does have fragrance, but I absolutely adore the scent. It has a light touch of vanilla and creamy amber and it smells so nostalgic to me.
•The Whoo Sunquid
This is a sunscreen I prefer to reach for on hot or humid days. This sunscreen is not water resistant, but it does hold extremely well on the skin and doesn’t come off as easily as other non water resistant sunscreens. The sunscreen feels instantly cooling on the skin, but not overly so like menthol. It does have a very very faint scent of citrus that is almost imperceptible. If you are doing outdoor activities for long periods I would highly recommend the Isa Knox sunscreen instead, but as a daily sunscreen it is excellent.

Isa Know sunscreen sounds really good, and it’s 100 ml. What’s the finish like?
