So, I got new storage. I love her. But idk where to start? I dont really know how i want to sort. My inclination is brand? Each individual little drawer can fit 125 Mooncats. So the whole can fit about 2500 polish. I currently have 1290. Beyond thrilled to have an excuse to be able to double my collection lol. But not sure how I want to organize it yet. Any ideas?

1290??!! At 13$ a bottle that’s $16,770 😮💨 how long have you been collecting?
Cool storage system and I would probably also do it by brand.
Edit – how often do you paint your nails on average?
If I had that storage set up I would be inclined to sort by brand and then by color within each brand.
I sort by brand & then by color within each brand.
I have a mighty need 👀
Where did you get your storage from?
I would organize by brand only bc of the satisfaction of seeing all the same-size bottles in each drawer lol. Altho realistically I feel like sorting by color makes more sense when you’re looking for inspo.
Very cool unit but I’d have to remove all the sharpie and give it a zhoosh
I think it depends on how you think you’ll use it.
If you pick your manicures by using an app or some other kind of reference, brand is probably the way to go.
If you pick them by rummaging through the actual polish (this is what I usually do!), you might want to consider your thought process when you’re picking out polish. I sort mine by a combination of finish and color. My magnetics are separate, because I know they’ll take longer so I have to be in the right mood to use them. My thermals are too, because I want to make sure to use them before they die. Cremes, toppers, etc. on their own because I’m usually looking for “a blue creme” or “a micro glitter topper”, not just browsing.
But I usually group glitters/shimmers/holos/etc. together by color, because I’m not usually after one specific finish. (Though I do have a “wtf color actually *is* this?” section too!)
So yeah, obviously you can organize however you like, but I personally find this kind of stuff is most useful if you shape it to how you use it, not the other way around. So if it’s a basically a catalog of polish, where it’s just storage where you can find what you want quickly, brands and then maybe even alphabetizing would probably work great. But if you’re a browser like me, you might want it more personalized to your particular habits.
