Out of the many, many nail polishes I own and love, I have 2 top favorites that I don't have a clue what I would do without. They are plumb luck by holo taco, and garden on the beach by glitch lacquer. I purchased 3 of each so far. I'm wondering if anyone else is stocked up and how many bottles you have? At what point do I have an unhinged amount lol because I still feel scared one will discontinue. 🫠 yet I still want moree.

i have never purchased more than one of a nail polish other than top coats or base coats.
Only one. But I buy every dupe of it I can find, so I’ve ended up with a lot of “favorites.” I’d rather have a thousand versions of a shade I love, than a wide variety of different polishes. And I just realized that tracks with my personality… I can be pretty rigid and hate trying new things lol
I wanna love plumb luck but I just …. don’t. Idk what it is. I keep it my bag tho in case a nail peels at work tho lol
I have threeeeee bottles of Mooncat’s Moonrise, which is crazy. It’s my number one polish overall, but I have so much polish to use, there’s no real reason to own three lol. I’ll probably use at least one for a trade at some point. The first one was a freebie reward bottle, which turned me onto their glowy ethereal colors and totally changed my outlook on polish. The second was purchased as a backup when it was announced for retirement. Then the third I bought on a whim when someone destashed it for retail price.
I’m not normally one to buy backups, but I do now have a few backups for other Mooncat colors. I have one backup for A Galaxy Far, Far Away, purchased because it was a LE color and I’d like to wear it for years in the future. One backup for my first magnetic, purchased at retail price, Malevolent (I’ll probably trade this one too, I don’t really need two). A few backups for some colors I enjoy that were offered as free rewards (Moonicorn, Moondust, Moonfairy). Just grabbed them because they were free and I was already ordering, not sure if I’ll keep them or trade some away too. I do love them but I have so much polish lol, it’s getting to be overwhelming honesty. I’m thinking trading at some point, the next time I’m itching to buy, may be a smart way to get something new without adding to the stash. 😬

I don’t generally let myself get backup bottles, as I do think many many polishes out there have dupes (or will eventually), buuuuut I am also weak to Holo Taco’s glitter formula and may have three bottles of Choco-holo 🫣. I’m almost through bottle #1, so I don’t really regret it, but considering it’s the bottle I bought when they first came out in 2021, if I keep up my current usage I should be set for at least the next decade 😆.
I’m pretty at peace with eventually running out, as the way I see it, I have a solid ten years to either find a comparable dupe, discover a new brown glitter I love even more, or see if my tastes change and I settle into a stronger love of flakies or shimmers (or even go back into my creme phase).
I have one backup of a BKL polish (Your Golden Traitor) that I bought in a total panic during one of their shutdown sales a few years back. I am not close to needing to open it yet. I probably would not buy a backup of anything in the future. I change my polish about once a week and I think it will be years until I run out of any single bottle!

I bought a backup of Mooncat’s Like A Moth To A Flame. When I originally got the polish, it was in a questionable bottle. I followed Linry’s advice to use up a bit to reduce the risk of breakage…well, I couldn’t stop. I ended up panning it & bought a backup when I knew I was getting close. It retired, so now I’m probably never going to wear it! 😅

I usually only buy one, but I’m in Australia, so I’ll sometimes double up on things I know I’ll want more of so I don’t have to worry about shipping again.
So far it’s been Holo Taco Linear Holo topper, Scorchy, and Clionadh Flame-Blown.
Party Punch by Holo Taco. I finished a bottle already. I have one with a little bit missing out of it. And I bought a backup when they announced they were going to discontinue it. So I currently have two bottles.
