Normal or worth asking for a refund?

Got these yesterday- Builder gel. Heat spikes during curing on all the nails, only one layer (not built in layers) seemed really rushed. Nails are very tender today. I know my nails are short but are they so short they'd impede a tech this much? She was also constantly using her nails to wipe away gel she'd flood my cuticles with. :"(
