I’ve been growing my nails out ever since I saw a post about nail strengthener over polish and posted this https://www.reddit.com/r/RedditLaqueristas/s/18DHc9HAbs. Before I started using jojoba oil and this method I could grow maybe 3-4 mm of free edge before it would break off. My nails have gotten more than twice as long as they ever have but since the weather changed and the humidity kicked up they’re getting to be in bad shape. I have horses so it’s absurd that I was able to grow them out this long in the first place. But now they’re really struggling especially since one of my horses (pictured) has mega allergies and needs very frequent baths. There’s no way for me to effectively protect my nails from water and various soaps during a horse bath. It’s better to give up
I was throwing a 50ish pound hay bale and the free edge of my middle nail got caught and went with it. It was already cracked on the side and i had patched it. I can’t even find the tip anywhere. It’s gone gone. My mares are completely innocent here 🤣 the bale was for another horse. Don’t want to chop them all off just yet so I stuck an extension on the short nail and painted it. I knew they’d break off eventually and now I know how to grow them out and that it’s physically possible. I’m so glad there’s something out there that finally worked.
