I went through a local department store where they were selling discounted buckets of nail polish and found 3 polishes that were super close to polishes I wanted from Holo Taco. I got the whole lot for like AU$25 during a clearance sale (lucky for me browns and yellows aren’t popular). Meanwhile 3 Holo Taco cremes would have cost me around AU$60 plus shipping.

    The shades were

    1. 2 coats of Revlon Ultra HD Snap 013 Basic (with HT lunar unicorn skin on my ring finger)

    2. 3 coats of Essie Bordeaux

    3. 2 coats of Revlon Ultra HD Snap 002 Makin’ The Most (with HT Coin Toss on my ring finger)

They’re not exact dupes, but close enough to satisfy me. I actually prefer that the Essie shade is a little brighter and more jelly leaning to make the red pop. And honestly, their formulas were amazing, so it wasn’t even like I was sacrificing quality for price.

My point isn’t to promote these specific shades, it could be anything available at makeup/department stores and pharmacies. Nor am I trying to diss Holo Taco, they make up a third of my collection and it’s not their fault the exchange rate sucks.

I guess I just wanted to say if you’re struggling with the cost of nail polishes you want there are almost always cheaper dupes out there, especially for cremes/crellies/jellies.

    1. Essie Bordeaux is one of my all time favorites! It looks great and fwiw, I think the formula is better than Devil’s Advocate as well
