Hi All,

I haven’t had me my nails done before, so I’m completely new to this. I’m getting married soon and thinking about having them done for the day. I found a picture of some that I quite like, I’m just not quite sure what treatment to ask for. I would want them to look as natural as possible, wouldn’t need extensions and I would probably go back to natural nails a week or so afterwards. Any recommendations as to what to ask for and how long before the wedding to get them done? Thanks

Sounds like you want a basic gel polish manicure. I’d get one now to try the look and the shop. Basically, make sure you’ve solidified the look you want on your big day. It’ll also give you a chance to see how it grows out.

Generally, within 3 days of the big event is advisable.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but looks like a russian mani with a nude gel overlay! For your wedding, especially if you’re getting them before, be sure to research the nail tech you’re choosing.

Please don’t got to just any walk-in salon. Look up local russian mani + gel specialists with good reviews AND pictures of their work online. Independant artists and salons will charge more, but it’s not worth the risk for your wedding (and nail health in general).

My nails look exactly like this. If your nails aren’t already long, a couple months before your wedding, get a Russian manicure with builder gel. In 3-4 weeks, get a fill. When it’s your wedding, get a fill with a vanilla gloss shade. See an independent manicurist versus a shop. An independent manicurist will focus on the health of your nail versus a shop.

So pretty and classy! I would go get one early to make sure we were on the same page for the wedding!
